Ice fishing is perhaps a second popular activity after snow mobiling here in Warren, PA. Though I have yet to try it, I do know someone who is good at it and he happens to be my Warren niece's dad.
A fishing license is required and can be purchased at a local store and on-line. Fishing poles, accessories and fresh baits are available locally as well.
If catch and release is your idea of fun fishing...good for ya'! I fish to eat because I love seafood. Fish is Mother Nature's recipe for a healthy diet because it is high in protein, low in fat and rich with essential amino acids that are great for cell growth, immune system and digestion, muscle building and recovery and for storing protein.
Here is one of my favorite dishes that I fix at home. It ii bass covered with coconut flakes, chili paste, onion, garlic, ginger, salt and chopped parsley mixed with a bit of cooking oil. Baked at 375degF for 30 minutes, this dish is best served with jasmine or basmati rice.
